Overview
Your information stays local. The extension has no publisher-operated server, analytics, advertising, or telemetry. It does not sell personal information.
Information the extension handles
While you use any supported chat site, the extension can read the current conversation page to provide its visible features. This can include:
- prompt text, answer headings, message identifiers, and message timestamps used to build the table of contents;
- the current conversation identifier used to keep outlines separate;
- layout preferences such as whether the tools are enabled and the selected navigation, content, and table-of-contents widths; and
- a compact local outline cache containing prompt titles, answer headings, identifiers, and timestamps. Full answer text is not stored in this cache.
How information is used
The extension uses this information only to resize the supported conversation panes, adjust the conversation width, build the table of contents, show prompt timestamps, restore previously seen outline entries, and navigate within the current conversation.
When you choose Load history, the extension scans conversation content that the chat site has already made available to the current page. It does not start a separate conversation download and does not use your authentication credentials outside the chat page.
Storage and retention
Preferences and cached outlines are saved with the browser extension’s local storage on your device. Outlines are keyed separately by site and conversation. The cache retains up to 50 recent conversation outlines for up to 30 days. You can clear it from the extension popup, and uninstalling the extension removes its extension storage according to your browser’s normal behavior.
Sharing and transfer
The extension does not send information to the publisher or third parties. It does not use information for advertising, credit decisions, or any purpose unrelated to the extension’s user-facing layout and outline features. No person acting for the publisher reads your conversation content through this extension.
Browser permissions
Site access is limited to chatgpt.com, chat.openai.com, ai-know.nus.edu.sg, gemini.google.com, www.perplexity.ai, chat.deepseek.com, and www.kimi.ai. Content on Gemini, Perplexity, DeepSeek, Kimi and AI-Know is read from rendered conversations only; their authentication and network requests are not intercepted. The existing passive metadata reader runs only on ChatGPT. The storage permission saves preferences and the compact outline cache locally.
Your choices
You can hide the table of contents, disable the extension’s tools, clear cached outlines from the extension popup, or uninstall the extension at any time.
Changes to this policy
If the extension’s information practices change, this page will be updated with a new “last updated” date. Material changes will also be reflected in the Chrome Web Store listing or extension release notes.
